Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO), which has received negative attention for a string of executive departures, is calling attention to several high-profile executive additions in a blog post. Three of the additions, including hires from Google (NSDQ: GOOG) and Metacafe, have not been widely reported. The run-down, below.
— David Rice: Rice joined Yahoo as vice president of media products and solutions in August from Metacafe, where he had been chief operating officer for the last year. According to his LinkedIn profile, he’s “leading Yahoo’s global media products — News, Finance, Sports, Entertainment and Games.” It’s his second time at Yahoo.
— Bobby Figueroa: Figueroa is now vice president of consumer advertising experience at Yahoo. He was previously at Google, where he had “multiple responsibilities under the Product Management and Product Marketing team for all advertising products, including AdWords, AdSense, and DoubleClick.”
— Todd Papaioannou: Papaionannou, a new VP of cloud computing, had spent the previous five years at data warehousing firm Teradata. He joined Yahoo in May, according to his LinkedIn profile.
The other two hires Yahoo is highlighting are Bill Shaughnessy, the SVP of product management the company hired in July, and John Matheny, the new SVP of communications and communities, who we wrote about last week.
