C2Call, a startup behind a fast-growing internet calling service called FriendCaller, has raised $2 (£1.28) million in a first round of funding. FriendCaller users can send friends links, which recipients can click on to call them via the web. Internet calls are free, although the company charges for calls to cell phones and landlines.
C2Call says it is getting 15,000 new sign-ups a day and now has more than 900,000 users. The company says it has brought in more than $2 (£1.28) million in revenue since April. The new cash comes from Draper Investment Company, High-Tech Gründerfonds and KHK Software founder Klaus Wecken.
