Russia’s ProfMedia Combines Afisha And Rambler

Russian media holding firm ProfMedia is merging two of its properties, magazine publishing house Afisha and major Russian internet portal Rambler. In a release, Prof Media cites the shift from print to digital ad spending, as well as the “convergence” of distribution channels, as driving the decision to combine the two.

The Quintura Blog says that the merger should help drive traffic from Rambler to Afisha’s sites, which include, the country’s top entertainment portal. The new entity will be led by current Afisha head Nikolay Molibog .
