By Mark Sweney and Jemima Kiss: Daily Mail (LSE: DMGT) & General Trust is to dissolve its standalone consumer digital arm, Associated Northcliffe Digital, in a cost-cutting move that will result in job losses and the departure of chief executive Richard Titus.
Titus, who joined DMGT from the BBC just over a year ago, has stood down with immediate effect but will continue work on a consultancy basis until the end of November.
AND, the home of digital businesses including Jobsite, Findaproperty, Primelocation, Teletext Holidays and Motors, will disappear as a division and a brand and instead be absorbed into DMGT’s consumer division, A&N Media.
AND employs more that 1,000 staff in the UK and central and eastern Europe, of whom about 30 work on group-wide functions.
