inDinero, a Mint-like Finance App for Small Businesses

Want to be able to keep track of your company’s finances, but don’t fancy having to learn a complex accounting app like Quickbooks? Check out inDinero, a new app that provides a real-time financial dashboard for small business owners to monitor how much they’re earning, how much they’re spending and what their cash situation looks like.

inDinero can securely pull all of your transaction data from a variety of sources: Your bank account, credit card, PayPal and (to come shortly) other web apps, like FreshBooks and Shoeboxed. inDinero can securely connect to over 10,000 financial institutions in the U.S. Once your data sources are set up, you shouldn’t need to do any further manual data entry.

inDinero looks to be very similar to personal finance dashboard app Mint, providing at-a-glance access to information about your company’s financial health — in fact, it really looks like the app was designed from the ground up to be a “Mint for small businesses” (not that that’s a bad thing). The various charts are designed to be simple and easy-to-understand, avoiding the use of complicated financial jargon — enabling you to spot upcoming cashflow crunches, for example.

It’s worth noting that inDinero only provides a dashboard of your company’s current financial health; it’s not designed to replace bookkeepers, and it can’t help with complex accounting tasks like tax preparation. However, bookkeepers should like inDinero as it will save them a lot of manual data entry; transactions can be exported from the app into Quickbooks (or Excel, or any accounting application that can import CSV files)

As with all apps that have access to financial information, security and privacy is always a concern — inDinero has an extensive security page outlining the measures the company takes to keep your data safe, including third-party verification by nGenuity and VeriSign.

inDinero has a variety of plans available. The free plan allows up 50 transactions per month, while the Small Business Plan costs $29.95 per moth and allows up to 500 transactions. The top-of-the-line Enterprise plan costs $99.95 and allows unlimited transactions. All plans allow for unlimited users and provide accountant access.
