RIM Prepping New Touchscreen Phone And Tablet?

Research In Motion, which has recently seen its market share in North America slipping to Apple (NSDQ: AAPL), is testing a new touchscreen smartphone with a slide-out keyboard and is in the early stages of development with a tablet device, according to the WSJ.com, citing unnamed sources.

The phone runs on a new version of the BlackBerry OS and apparently allows users to swipe and pinch the screen, an experience similar to the iPhone.
