Hulu’s New Player Asks Viewers’ Feedback On Ad Targeting


The promise of more relevant ads is way down the list of improvements Hulu has listed on its blog, but it shows that ad support is still a key factor in the video site’s revenue schemes. The new “ad tailor” is part of the launch of the new player, and will allow users to provide immediate feedback on whether the ad was targeted at the right audience member or not. Now, during the playing of an ad, a small box in the upper right corner of the player will ask, “Is this ad relevant to you?” with a “yes” or “no” alongside it.
