Plenty of conflicting signals this morning on the direction of the tablet market. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Verizon Wireless CEO Lowell McAdam drops a big, fat hint that the carrier is working with Google on an Android-based tablet, only to have a Google spokesman suggest nothing much is up in that department. Meanwhile, Intel CEO Paul Otellini sees big things ahead for the tablet market, while consumer researchers in the U.K. suggest consumers remain to be convinced of the utility of the new devices.
