Sorenson Media is looking to tackle the enterprise market with the latest version of its white-label video management platform. The latest version builds on the launch of its Sorenson 360 online video platform, which was introduced last spring.
With Sorenson 360 v2, the company has added features like RTMP multi-bit rate streaming, drag-and-drop playlist functionality and unlimited player templates, all aimed at making at easier for enterprise customers to manage and deliver high-quality streaming video to their clients. That comes on top of existing features such as client-side encoding, automated video SEO functionality, social media sharing tools and developer APIs that are available to all Sorenson clients.
The company believes that the breadth of features differentiates it from other video management companies, which have graduated pricing tiers based upon the features included as part of each package. Instead of having customers pick pricing packages without knowing what features they’ll need or use, or how much bandwidth or video they’ll deliver, Sorenson offers a pay-as-you-go model for its video management offering.
But by targeting the enterprise space, they will face some fierce competition, particularly from Brightcove, which made a play for enterprise customers by introducing a suite of lower-priced offerings with the launch last fall of its entry level, pay-as-you-go Brightcove Express packages.
