Former Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) VP-corporate development Bruce Jaffe has been hired as Glam Media’s next CFO. Jaffe, who left Microsoft back in January ’08, joined Glam as an adviser to the board almost two years ago. He will replace Glam’s current CFO, Stephen Recht, who will stay on through the summer, says MediaMemo, which first broke the news of Jaffe’s hiring.
At Microsoft, Jaffe was known as a key dealmaker during his last two years at the Redmond company, with the $6 billion acquisition of aQuantive being the biggest one he was involved in. He had been at Microsoft in a variety of other roles since 1995.
It’s not clear why Glam decided to replace Recht right now, but since it claimed to reach profitability last fall, rumors that the company was preparing for an IPO have been heard more and more often. Release
