Green:Net This Week – Don't Miss It!

This is a big week for us and for the idea that information technology — software, computing, the web — can fight climate change and create opportunities in greentech. On Thursday, April 29, we’re throwing our second annual Green:Net conference in San Francisco, which will look at the intersection of information technology and greentech and cover topics like the smart grid, connected cars, green data centers, how software and computing can reduce the cost of clean power and how the dotcom pioneers are developing the next-generation of green technology. We got a couple tickets left, so grab ‘em while you can here.

We’re very excited to host California Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown, who will talk about greentech and the California economy. Internet and computing pioneers Steve Jurvetson, Vinod Khosla and Bill Gross will talk about what they’re excited about in greentech, and Google’s Green Energy Czar Bill Weihl will detail how Google has innovated around energy and data centers. Greenpeace will unveil details about its latest green IT rankings, and smart grid firm Silver Spring Networks for the first time will talk about some of its consumer programs with its utility partners.

We’ve also put together a panel on how connected cars and electric vehicles will change the face of transportation, with execs from GM, Nissan, Ford, Better Place and utility PG&E. And Bill McKibben, Author, Educator, and Environmentalist, will describe (via video) the lessons he learned from using the web to create a social movement to fight climate. Lastly we’ll be featuring our startup launchpad section again, where 10 early stage startups that are using information technology for greentech will launch themselves or new products.

Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind event! Get your tickets now before it’s sold out.
