A number of print mags are trying to find the right formula for paid online content offerings lately and The New Republic is using a range of options that will test web readers’ interest. Tomorrow, the magazine is introducing a new subscription product called TNR Society. The politics mag says it intends the online enhancing the benefits of a paid subscription to the magazine and online publication. For one thing, rather than just lazily digitized replica, TNR is promising subscriber-only premium content. The paywall has a variety of tiers for readers to choose from, with a clear intent of rewarding print subs.
