Smartclip Names Former AOL Sales Exec Matt Prohaska As CEO

Online video ad net Smartclip has hired former AOL (NYSE: AOL) North American sales VP Matt Prohaska as its first CEO. The New York startup opened its doors last November, a month before Prohaska exited AOL amid a wider reorg at the company as it split from former parent Time Warner (NYSE: TWX). While AOL has seen a number of veterans leave over the past few months, such as MediaGlow head Bill Wilson and CTO Ted Cahall, it has also been doing a lot of hiring lately (AdAge just posted a chart on the two dozen who have joined the company in the past few months.) Prohaska was the first online media buyer at BBDO and later became regional sales manager for CNET when the company opened its New York offices. Release
