The zeitgeist moves quickly in these jacked-in, hyperlinked times. Response to the iPad has gone from hype, to the breathless early reviews, and now the backlash has begun, all before the first consumer taps the first app icon. Cory Doctorow of Boing Boing declares himself an iPad refusenik, vowing never to buy one, while the New York Times goes trawling for skeptics and has no trouble finding them. Thank God the thing finally goes on sale this weekend. Maybe we can move on to another topic next week. Yeah, right.
