Research In Motion has acquired Viigo, a Toronto-based company that has built a platform that makes it easy for publishers and other content companies to develop applications for the BlackBerry platform.

The headline is misleading. Should be “RIM acquires BlackBerry tools maker Viigo.”
I’ve never developed for its platform, but the Viigo RSS app is a must-have for Blackberry users: slick and carefully designed. It’ll be interesting to see what a closer integration will mean.
