»  Skype will be available this Thursday, March 25, on Verizon BlackBerries and Android smartphones. Users can make and receive Skype-to-Skype calls, — which won’t be charged against their monthly minutes or data plans — call internationally at Skype’s pricing rates, and send and receive instant messages with other Skype users.

»  RealNetworks (NSDQ: RNWK) will power MetroPCS’ new MetroMusic Store, which will launch in the second half of this year.

»  Snapfinger, an iPhone app that makes ordering take-out food easy, will create a version for Android. Its network includes about 28,000 restaurant locations in over 1,600 U.S. cities.

»  Ericsson’s findings show that data traffic globally grew 280 percent during each of the last two years, and is forecast to double annually over the next five years.

»  Google (NSDQ: GOOG) and Compete release new research on consumers’ mobile interests, showing that 65 percent of smartphone buyers are buying the device for the first time.
