Today in Cloud

The RSA Conference kicked off today, so it’s not surprising that we’re seeing RSA-parent-company EMC and friends making security announcements around everybody’s favorite topic — cloud computing. We have EMC, VMware and Intel touting private-cloud security, and Cisco expanding internal security protocols across boundaries to ensure all remains well when employees access cloud services remotely and from different clients. What’s interesting to me, however, is that I haven’t seen any news around making public clouds more secure (perhaps I missed it, though). I don’t suspect Google or Amazon are buying third-party security solutions, but there are plenty of new clouds popping up that might need some security help.
