Video Ad Network YuMe Raises A Big $25 Million Round

Video ad network YuMe, based in Redwood City, CA, has raised its big round of funding: it has closed a $25 million round, led by Menlo Ventures, and included previous backers Accel Partners, Khosla Ventures, BV Capital and DAG Ventures. With this new funding, the company has raised more than $45 million since it was founded in 2004. According to NYT, the company is profitable, and has publishers such as MSN, MSNBC, IDG Entertainment and Glam Media in its network. It is competing in a increasingly crowded field with competitors like Tremor Media, and SpotXchange, and others in the logical extension of video ad exchanges.
