Today in Cloud

Open cloud standards has been a hot topic since cloud computing first caught on, and now it looks like we might actually be on track to see results. The A6 Audit working group is gaining traction (and a new name, CloudAudit) for its goal of creating an open, secure API that will double as a cloud compliance standard. A particularly positive aspect of the CloudAudit effort is that it includes both big-vendor representatives and independent cloud specialists, a characteristic that blogger (and Oracle employee) William Vambenepe thinks is critical to creating workable cloud standards. Let’s hope CloudAudit lives up to its promise.
