List-building startup Ranker has raised $750,000 in a seed round led by Siemer Venture Capital. The site lets users easily build lists about anything; featured examples include “top 10 Fox News Fails of 2009″ and the “top videos of politicians failing.” (Users build lists by dragging and dropping “items” like photos and stats that already on the site).
The company was founded by Clark Benson, who sold his last startup, youth-focused social networking company eSpin, to Hearst three years ago. The cash will be used to expand Ranker’s development team.
