Fortune magazine is bringing back Daniel Roth to serve as managing editor of the business mag’s website, a Time Inc. (NYSE: TWX) rep told paidContent. Roth will leave Wired magazine, where he was a senior writer for the past two years. He initially left Fortune as a senior editor in March 2006 to join Wired’s Conde Nast sibling Portfolio, which is now a web-only pub. In a memo sent to the staff, Andy Serwer, the magazine’s managing editor, said that Roth will be heading up an ongoing effort to “reinvent” Fortune.com, albeit within the larger framework of CNNMoney.com. There hasn’t been much of revamp so far at Fortune.com. That said, last year, the site did add a new tech blog, BrainStormTech, which was intended to serve as a complement to the conference of the same name. Mediamemo first reported the news earlier in the morning.
