BlackBerry Buzz: Bell Goes Self Serve; Lotus on the ‘Berry

It’s Tuesday and that can only mean it’s time for our weekly feature, the BlackBerry Buzz. The big buzz these days may have a lot to do with the Apple (s aapl) Tablet / iPhone update and the upcoming information about Windows Mobile, but don’t count the BlackBerry out just yet. Bell is looking to help Storm and Tour owners manage their phone accounts a bit easier. They are launching the “Self Serve” app for owners of those phones, and also for Palm (s palm) Pre devices. The app, aside from making me think of Dairy Queen ice cream, allows Bell account management from the handset.

IBM (s ibm) Lotus users should be happy to note that Research In Motion (s rimm) has released two programs for the BlackBerry to make interaction with Lotus more productive. Lotus Connections and Lotus Quickr bring sophisticated collaboration tools to the BlackBerry, a natural fit for the enterprise. The two apps bring a host of functionality for working with Lotus, details of which can be found at the Lotus BlackBerry site.

I saw that RIM was showing the Kodak (s ek) wireless printing at its booth at the CES, and CrackBerry has posted a video of the technology in action. The Kodak printing app only works with Documents2Go, which may not make everyone happy, but once the app is installed printing can be done from the Docs2Go menus. Take a look below to see it in action.
