Some Numbers On Nielsen’s Sale of Billboard/Hollywood Reporter & Others Come Out

When Nielsen announced the sale of eight of its marquee media-entertainment related brands last month — including The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, Adweek, Brandweek, Mediaweek and others — the sale price wasn’t disclosed, but a price range of around $70 million leaked out though never confirmed. Now some numbers have come out via SEC filings, though our sources say that doesn’t present the full picture. According to a filing yesterday, the acquiring company, called E5 Gobal Media Holdings, has raised $42.5 million in funding (filing after the jump). What’s clear: that the cash component of the price is at least that much, but our source says the final price is tens of million more than that, and a significant share of the value exchange resided with other matters
