Social Network Maker SocialGO Raises $800,000

SocialGO

SocialGO, a startup which lets its users set up their own social networking sites, has raised $800,000 from Veddis Ventures; SocialGO’s parent company, Bright Things, has also bought up Get On With It, a company which has been providing SocialGO with unspecified “development and support services” for two years. Social networks created on SocialGO can either be hosted on SocialGO itself or integrated into an existing website. A basic service, with ads, is free while SocialGO charges up to $149.99 a month for premium versions featuring more storage and bandwidth. The company is in a crowded market, competing with players including Ning and Webjam. Here’s the release.
