– MySpace: Shari Friedman is being promoted to SVP Advertising Sales, West. Friedman, who joined the social net as VP, Entertainment Sales in 2006, reports to Nada Stirratt, MySpace’s chief revenue officer. Before MySpace, Friedman spent six years at AOL (NYSE: AOL), also working on the entertainment ad side.
— Google: John McCain’s former PR chief Jill Hazelbaker will lead communications at Google (NSDQ: GOOG). Recently, she worked on New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s re-election campaign. [San Jose Business Journal]
— Shanda (NSDQ: SNDA) Online: Shanda Online has appointed Xu Chaojun its new COO. Xu comes from Oak Pacific Interactive, where he served as VP. Earlier this week, Shanda’s gaming arm bought Mochi Media for $80 million. [Release]
— Elevation Partners: Former Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) software chief Avie Tevanian will be a managing director at Elevation Partners. He joins another Apple alum, former CFO Fred Anderson, at the Silicon Valley-based venture company.
— Advance Publications: Randy Siegel is now leading local digital strategy as president for Advance Publications. He had most recently been president of Advance’s subsidiary, Parade Publications. Siegel joined Parade in 2001, after having worked at The Washington Post Company (NYSE: WPO). [Release]
— Participant Media: Jim Ivers, one of the first employees at Participant, has been named COO. He joined as CFO in 2004, but most recently served as EVP of business affairs and M&A. Previously, he was COO for the Motion Picture Corporation of America (MPCA).
— e5 Global: Richard Beckman, a former Condé Nast exec, is leaving his post as president of Fairchild Fashion Group to join e5 as CEO. Prior to Fairchild, Beckman was president of Condé Nast Media Group and chief marketing officer for Condé Nast Publications. [Mediaweek]
