Newspaper publisher Journal Register, which emerged from bankruptcy in August, has tapped impreMedia CEO John Paton to be its new CEO. Paton co-founded impreMedia, which bills itself as the nation’s top Hispanic newspaper publisher with properties including El Diario in New York City and La Opinion in Los Angeles. Journal Register (OTCBB: JRCO), which owns papers including the New Haven Register, had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February, saddled with more than $700 million in debt; Paton has been a member of the company’s board. He succeeds interim CEO Robert Conway. Here’s the release.
