Nice to see another group of publishers sign on with Google for Fast Flip. Google hasn’t done much to promote Fast Flip, and the ad load is light. But for publishers, suchB2B deals with platform providers and applications developers with their own monetization schemes are likely to make more sense in the long run than putting everything behind a paywall and charging readers directly. On the web, value is created through use, not by scarcity, and it’s in the interests of everyone in the value chain to create more value. On the same principle, it’s also nice to see Warner Bros. experimenting with RapidShare.
