By Mark Sweney: City AM, the daily London financial freesheet, has struck a deal with an online financial services company, Interactive Investor, to bolster its website offering and launch an annual awards ceremony.
The two companies will share financial news and data resources, with Interactive Investor powering and managing City AM’s website, Cityam.com, which will be relaunched.
Their combined content will also be available through iii.co.uk. They claim that the partnership draws on a total editorial pool of 36 journalists.
City AM and Interactive Investor will also launch a new awards scheme, the City Awards 2010, to be sponsored by Saxo Bank. These will aim to “recognise the creativity and enterprise of companies and individuals that put the City at the centre of world financial markets”. Events to promote the awards will begin in January and build towards a gala dinner in September.
The chairman and chief executive of Interactive Investor, Tomas Carruthers, said: “The City has a voracious appetite for financial information, services and products. The alliance will provide an important shop window to companies wanting to market themselves to its participants, both in print and online.”
