Print Round-Up: Johnston Cuts 40 Jobs; Archant’s Debt Agreement; Bauer Signs Ad Deal

Johnston Press: The publisher is reported to be making another 40 staff redundant as it moves to consolidate three newspaper production centres in Peterborough, Northampton and Milton Keynes. Those centres were themselves set up as centralised subbing “hubs” in January so its yet further centralisation from Johnston. From HTFP.

Archant: Privately-held regional newspaper and magazine company Archant has refinanced its £50 million debt facility until April 2013 — meaning it now has funds for “strategic investments”. The debt is held by Royal Bank of Scotland and Bank of Ireland. The company says it makes annual revenues of “around” £175 million and publishes 180 websites.

Bauer: Consumer magazine business Bauer has signed an online ad deal with Tremor Media to sell its inventory in the UK, US and Germany. Tremor also has deals with Mirror Group Newspapers, News International and DMGT. From Brand Republic.
