iWallet — Using Mobile Tech to Protect Your Stuff

Mobile technology can be used in many ways, but I admit I never saw this method coming. The iWallet leverages a fingerprint sensor and Bluetooth technology to keep your stuff protected. This doesn’t come cheap, with a fiberglass model going for $300. That price quickly ratchets up when you opt for the kevlar/carbon fiber model, which will set you back a whopping $600.

The iWallet is a hard case wallet that has a fingerprint reader on the outside. This prevents anyone but you from opening the wallet, so if the iWallet is lifted from you, odds are it’s going to get tossed in the trash. At least your credit card numbers will be safe from prying eyes.

The wallet also can be paired with a BlackBerry Curve over Bluetooth, enabling both devices to watch each other’s back. When the phone and iWallet get over 15 feet away from each other, the phone emits a loud alarm calling attention to that fact. No more leaving your Curve in the cab with this setup.
