Glu Mobile (NSDQ: GLUU), a mobile games publisher, said that its co-chairman William J. Miller will assume the position of interim President and CEO effective immediately. Release.
Glu announced this summer that Greg Ballard, the company’s current President and CEO, was stepping down to pursue other opportunities. The board has been conducting a search for a permanent replacement since, but has apparently had no luck. It now says a successor will be named in early 2010. Miller and Daniel Skaff will continue to serve as co-Chairmen. Prior to joining Glu’s board, Miller worked as an adviser to a number of tech companies stretching back to November 1999. Prior to that, Miller served as Chairman and CEO, among other roles, of Avid Corporation, which provides tools to multimedia companies. UPDATE: In an interview, Miller said Ballard was originally planning to stay until Glu found a replacement up until Jan. 1, but as they started their planning process for 2010, it made sense to have participate that would still be around in the new year. “That
