Broadband Content Bits: Cisco Improves Tandberg Bid; Deutsche Telekom IPTV; BBCWW Ad Account

Cisco-Tandberg: Cisco (NSDQ: CSCO) has made an improved $3.4 billion (£2 billion) bid for Norwegian teleconferencing company Tandberg to win over its target’s cautious shareholders: the deal on the table is now 170 Norwegian krone (£18.17) per share, compared to the previous offer’s NOK 153 per share. That’s it, though: this is the “final price”, Cisco warns. Release.

Deutsche Telekom: The telco is offering customers its Entertain Pur IPTV service without forcing them to take a DT broadband connection as well. The service is available at a knock-down price and households only have to take a DT fixed phone line. Via Rapidtvnews.com.

BBC Worldwide: The Beeb’s commercial wing has appointed ZenithOptimedia to handle its global ad planning and buying account, looking after BBC America and brands like Doctor Who and Top Gear. From Campaign.
