The Motorola (s mot) Droid is set to launch in the U.S. in just a few days, and a GSM version has already stormed the shores of Europe. One of the complaints that some reviewers of the Verizon (s vz) version have echoed is the lack of multitouch to provide pinch and zoom in the photo app and web browser. Android 2.0 does support multitouch, as can the Droid hardware, so the lack of pinch and zoom seems to be a conscious decision on someone’s part. The GSM version of the Droid, dubbed the Milestone, has gained multitouch in both the photo gallery app and the web browser. Could there be multitouch hope for the U.S. version on Verizon?
