Facebook Mobile director Jed Stremel has resigned, per TechCrunch, which mocoNews has confirmed. As for a replacement, Facebook says it has a “cross-functional” mobile team that will continue to work on both partnerships and product development — so seemingly no rush to fill the vacancy.
Stremel spent four years with the social net, working on “open access” mobile initiatives, like a potential integration with Yahoo’s oneConnect app; before joining the mobile team, he worked in business development. Stremel joined Facebook from Yahoo’s mobile division in 2005; before *Yahoo*, he worked at voice-powered search service Tellme Networks (now owned by Microsoft).
