CBS Interactive Launches Mobile Version Of


CBS Interactive (NYSE: CBS) is taking its high school sports website mobile. A new version of the site lets visitors submit scores from their phones; users will also be able to access the site’s info on thousands of teams while on the go. In a sign that there’s probably a big market for this, has signed on the Air Force as a sponsor for the new mobile site.

The news comes two months after CBS gave the site a big boost by signing a deal with Sports Illustrated to prominently put MaxPreps content on It also replaced high school and college sports network Takkle as the power behind the magazine’s Faces in the Crowd feature in both print and digital. In a release, CBS says that unique visitors to have risen 77 percent to 1.8 million since a year ago; figures show that much of that increase came last month. CBS bought in March 2007 for $43 million.
