Looks like Google (NSDQ: GOOG) can knock one of its three antitrust inquiries off its list. Responding to this morning’s announcement that Arthur Levinson — who served on both the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) and Google boards — was resigning from his Google post, FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz applauded the parties in a statement “for their willingness to resolve our concerns without the need for litigation” (via Reuters). That strongly suggests that a six-month-old inquiry into the overlap of directors on the Google and Apple boards — is over, although we have e-mailed the FTC to get confirmation. Meanwhile, antitrust inquiries into Google’s books settlement and its hiring practices remain outstanding.
