Today in Mobile

Adobe is making a huge mobile push with its Open Screen Project, expanding support for its Flash technology to just about every major smartphone OS currently on the market. The move will go a long way toward bridging the gap between the “PC web” and mobile, where a lack of support for the technology forces browsers and transcoding services to strip out Flash-enabled content. Today’s announcement doesn’t include support for the iPhone — although I’m guessing that’s on the way — but it appears to be a big step in addressing an Internet that has grown increasingly fragmented in an effort to make it usable on mobile devices.
