Sun TV Network today named Ravinath Menon head of programming. The network operates 20 satellite channels in four southern languages. Prior to this, Menon was an executive vice-president at Star India and headed Star One channel. Star India is a unit of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp (NYSE: NWS).
Menon has also worked at Zee, Sony (NYSE: SNE) and Asianet. “In this newly created position, he will oversee the strategy, development and management of all on-air content produced by Sun TV Network,” the company said in a statement.
At Sun TV, Menon will report to former Star India colleague Ajay Vidyasagar, who joined the Chennai-based broadcaster as COO in June.
