KIT Digital (s KITD), the white-label video company that was recently listed on the Nasdaq, will acquire The FeedRoom, Dan Rayburn is reporting. A spokesperson for KIT Digital declined to comment on whether an acquisition was happening, saying over email, “This one should be treated as speculation.”
The FeedRoom and KIT Digital, in its former life as ROO Group, have both been in this market for a long time. New York City-based FeedRoom, founded in 1999, has raised at least $66 million in venture and debt over the years. Its customers include Hewlett-Packard (s hpq), Bausch & Lomb, Intel (s intc) and Barnes & Noble (s bks). It is also the sole provider for live streaming video and online communications for the U.S. Department of Defense.
Prague-based KIT Digital was previously more focused on non-American markets, but The FeedRoom would give it a leg up in the U.S. KIT has acquired quite a few companies in the last couple years, including Narrowstep, Visual Connection and Kamera.
