Industry Moves: Fox Hires Former Vivendi Exec Emerson As VP Of Game Production

Andre Emerson

Twentieth Century Fox has hired Andre Emerson, a former VP and executive producer at *Vivendi* Games, to head up its Fox Licensing video game division. As VP of video game production, Emerson will oversee the development of games tied to Fox’s films and TV shows. (The company’s recent crop of sci-fi series like Dollhouse and Fringe seem like ideal fodder for episodic games on networks like Xbox Live, as well as the iPhone).

At Vivendi (EPA: VIV), Emerson oversaw development of the 50 Cent game franchise, including 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, among other titles; he also produced the award-winning Dead to Rights game during an early stint at Namco. He left Vivendi in mid-2008 to serve as president and CEO of indie game consulting firm Bad Butterz Productions. Emerson will report to Gary Rosenfeld, Fox Licensing’s SVP of new media; in a statement, Rosenfeld said his background in both game production and content licensing made Emerson the right fit for the job.
