A source familiar with the situation tells paidContent plans call for a WMG area on YouTube with an enhanced player and artist-branded channels. Yet to be determined: whether consumers will be able to buy through YouTube. Artists also continue to have branded channels outside of YouTube, via WMG’s partnership with Cisco (NSDQ: CSCO) Eos.
Update: I typed those last few sentences as my plane was headed down the runway to a blessed few hours without anything else about this particular long-running story. But I landed to a veritable torrent of words, including the official statements confirming what we reported earlier.
