Poptank Studios, a game development firm currently in stealth mode, has raised $660,000 in a seed round of funding, per an SEC filing; co-founder and CEO Joseph Charles Epstein told me the new funding came from private investors. Epstein launched Poptank in 2007; co-founder Adam Chapman now serves as COO. Epstein said the N.Y.-based startup plans to develop PC and mobile games that actually help improve players’ “real-world skills.” He offered no ETA for the studio’s first game launch.
