The LiMo Foundation has been running under the radar with competing mobile operating systems like Palm’s webOS, Google’s Android and Microsoft’s getting significantly more attention.
But today, it’s sticking its head up and saying that it has widespread support, and that we’ll see significant progress from the open-source Linux platform over the next two years. LiMo said all operator members, including Verizon Wireless (NYSE: VZ), Telefonica (NYSE: TEF), Orange and NTT DoCoMo (NYSE: DCM), have reaffirmed their intent to bring LiMo devices to market during 2009 and 2010.
