– Aegis Media: After moving up the ranks at Mindshare — eventually becoming its CEO, EMEA — Nick Walters is moving to Aegis Media to become CEO, Aegis Media Asia-Pacific. He replaces Patrick StÃ¥hle, who is retiring to pursue “a non-executive career.”
— ABC News Digital: Two members of the ABC News Digital team have been promoted: Elizabeth Barrett moves to Executive Director of Mobile, Broadband and Operations, overseeing the strategic planning, business strategy, production, and operation of the ABC News Mobile and Broadband businesses, from her previous position of Senior Producer. Also, Frank Kavilanz has been named Executive Director for Corporate Development, responsible for developing the overall growth and monetization strategy for ABC News Digital. Both report to SVP ABC News Digital Paul Slavin.
— NAB: Former U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith is the new CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters,filling the gap left when David Rehr left following a dispute with the board. It’s an area the two-term Republican has some experience in, as he was part of the panel that oversees all broadcast-related legislation during his time in the Senate.
— Cisco: Debra Chrapaty, one of Microsoft’s top infrastructure and data center executives, is leaving Redmond to replace former Cisco (NSDQ: CSCO) executive Doug Dennerline as the head of its collaboration software group. Chrapaty had been a Corporate VP at Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT), and Dennerline is now an EVP at Salesforce.com.
