– Arqiva: The radio mast firm’s reincarnation of the project codenamed Kangaroo will still have the consumer name SeeSaw, as originally intended, Media Week – though the company tells us no decision has been made.
— Virgin Media: VOD and IPTV service provider Red Bee Media has won a contract with Virgin to supply its new PictureBox on-demand movie service with video and metadata. The service launched in July and gives users access to 28 new and old films at a time. Red Bee also provides metadata services to the BBC’s iPlayer. Via itvt.com.
— X Factor: The much-hyped ITV (LSE: ITV) singing contest will give Sainsbury’s an on-screen role as part of an online content partnership between ITV, producer FremantleMedia and the supermarket chain. Sainsburys staff will visit contestants in the latter stage of the competition to “promote healthy eating” — the videos will go on Sainsburys’ website and Facebook page. From Marketing Week.
