Malibu, Calif.-based MobileCause, which creates mobile donation services for non-profits, has acquired a competitor Iugo.me, a Philadelphia-based company that focuses on smartphones, like iPhone, Palm (NSDQ: PALM) Pre and BlackBerry. Release.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but Daniel Scalisi, President of MobileCause, said it was an all-stock deal. In addition, a document filed with the SEC reported that MobileCause raised $425,000 in capital. Scalisi said that figure is incorrect but confirmed it raised an undisclosed round.
MobileCause will start using iugo’s mobile giving application platform. Iugo’s President Adolph Santorine will join MobileCause’s management team and Iugo.me
