MDC Partners, the parent company of agencies like Crispin, Porter + Bogusky and Media Kitchen, has made an investment in Attention Partners, a social media marketing agency based in N.Y. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2006 by emerging media marketing vet Curtis Hougland, Attention Partners started out as a PR firm; the agency had been working with several of MDC Partners’ divisions for the past year. Its current client roster includes media companies like A&E and WE tv, as well as brands like Rachel Roy and Herman Miller.
In a blog post, Hougland said he took the investment because he was sure that MDC wouldn’t “wake up and join [Attention Partners]” with one of its other agencies, and that the holding company would help the firm grow its marketing analytics practice. Release.
