What Happened To CAA's Sports Rollup Fund? Helping IOC in Sports Media Rights Deals Instead

Exactly a year ago CAA announced its biggest bet on sports media, and formed a new unit called CAA Sports Media Venture, as a rollup venture in the sector. But besides hiring Chris Bevilacqua, co-founder of CSTV Networks, as the venture’s CEO, nothing much has happened. The new unit was touted as three way partnership between CAA, Bevilacqua and Evolution Media Capital, a PE firm formed by Bob Stanley earlier this year after he left Merrill Lynch.

Now a year later, Bevilacqua, still with CAA, is part of a new deal CAA Sports has done with International Olympic Committee. IOC has hired CAA to be a strategic media adviser, helping the sports org in the bidding process for Olympic media rights in the United States, reports SBJ.
