Clearwire Starts To Connect WiMax Networks Worldwide

Clearwire (NSDQ: CLWR) has formed a partnership with WiMax operators in Japan and Russia with the intent of allowing their customers to roam on each others’ networks. Release.

The announcement was made by Clearwire Communications, a Clearwire subsidiary, which has the goal of working with other operators around the world to ensure roaming stanards based on the WiMAX Forum guidelines and specifications. The efforts are kicking off with a memorandum of understanding being signed between Clearwire and UQ Communications of Japan and Yota of Russia. Other countries that will likely participate include: Malaysia, Pakistan, Taiwan.
