As the recession rumbles on, it only makes sense that companies evaluating risk should receive some of the funding still on offer. Subscription-based risk data firm Business Monitor International has received equity investment — of an unspecified amount — from Spectrum Equity Investors.
It doesn’t give the investors a controlling stake, but it does give them two places on the BMI board. The new capital will allow BMI to expand its portfolio of services and invest in its global strategy — it already deals in 140 countries.
BMI offers online data on an annual basis and via weekly, monthly and quarterly print reports. It’s worth noting that as the debate on how content providers can monetise online assets rages on, online data providers are finding it much easier convincing clients to part with cash. Release.
